Sea Glass Cottage by Irene Hannon

I requested to read and review this book through LibraryThing and am happy I was chosen.

This is not the first book in the Hope Harbor series I have read and it won't be the last. The series does not have to be read in any order as each book introduces new residents of Hope Harbor and their stories.

This was an ARC version and the editing was very well done. The characters were well developed and believable.

The story flowed well and was mostly believable. It is a Christian book that does not preach at you but does show how the characters turn to God in trust to help them with their problems.

Irene Hannon is a gifted author and you will not be disappointed in this book.

A Rose for the Resistance by Angela K Couch

This is a story set in the last years of WWII in northern France. This is a Christian book that shows how Rosalie learns to depend on God. This is Christian but not preachy. A well written, clean book.

The characters are well defined. You learn to feel like you might know them. The book flows well and kept my interest throughout. It did start with a bang and I wasn't sure how I was going to like it, but I did enjoy the story.

The book was an ARC edition and it was very well done. The editing was good. Though I have not read Angela K Couch before, I look forward to reading more of her work.

I give this book a 4 out of 5-star review. If you've read my reviews before, you know I save 5 stars for the best of the best and rarely give them or 1 stars which is the worst of the worst.

Until Leaves Fall in Paris by Sarah Sundin

I was captivated from the very beginning. It was a book I had a hard time putting down. I usually like historical fiction blood and though I know this is fiction it is so well written that it seemed it could be true. The characters were very well described and filled out. They seemed very real.

The story flowed well. It's a good mix of history, a love story, and intrigue. It gives a good depiction of what life might have been like for Americans living in Paris when the Germans invaded and how life there deteriorated quickly.

I don't give a synopsis of a book as that is in the description and 5-star reviews are saved for the very best books. I wish there were half stars as I would give this book a 4.5 out of 5. I have read several of Sarah Sundin's books, all with a WWII theme and I've liked them all. This book is as good or maybe better than those I've read.

I was given an ARC copy through Netgalley and Revell Reads program. I requested to read this book and this review is my own, honest opinion. Even though this was an ARC copy, the editing was very well done.

The Prince and the Prodigal by Jill Eileen Smith

I love reading fictionalized Bible accounts, I'd say stories but they are true accounts, not stories.  I especially like reading the ones written by Jill Eileen Smith. Her books are almost like she was there as a witness to what went on.

I had a better understanding of the events that surrounded the account of Joseph being sold into slavery than I had previously. I had read and learned the story many times in church but this book brought it to life better than any account I've heard.

The characters were very well defined. The editing, though an ARC copy was also very well done. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys fictionalized Bible accounts. I rarely give a 5-star review but this book deserves 5 stars. This review has been posted on several sites. Shadows of Swanford Abby by Julie Klassen

Julie Klassen did not disappoint in her new book, Shadows of Swanford Abbey. The story held my attention from beginning to end. This is a Christian book in a very good way. It doesn't preach at you but shows how people that ARE Christians use their faith in their daily lives.

The main characters were very well developed. You felt like you were getting to know them. The minor characters were also well developed and played their roles well also.

This was an ARC edition and the editing was well done. I did notice a handful of errors but I'm sure these will be addressed before final publication.

If you are looking for a good, Christian, historical novel this is the book for you. I give this a solid 4 out of 5-star review. Just so you know, I rarely give 5-stars, those are given to the most outstanding books. This would be 4.5 if allowed.
